“You are as much serving God in looking after your own children, and training them up in God’s fear, and minding the house, and making your household a church for God, as you would be if you had been called to lead an army to battle for the Lord of hosts.”
– Charles Spurgeon
Recent conversations have been primarily focused around those who are considered to be essential and those who aren’t. Well, mom, without comparison, YOU’RE ESSENTIAL.
With the way over lives have been drastically altered the last few weeks, you have added so much to your job description and have greatly increased your already hectic workload.
It would be impossible for us to cover all of the new challenges that your facing today, but rest assured, YOU are appreciated and you are quite essential to your children, and to our nation!
Now more than ever we need healthy homes – spiritually, physically, mentally. And today, we’re reminded of what we already knew – how vital you are in each.
Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
We realize that even Mother’s Day for you this year is most likely going to be much different. Just remember that we love and appreciate you and are so thankful for you as you continue to work on the “front of the front lines.” Happy Mother’s Day!
We also believe that the church is essential. And so, we are planning to have our first meeting back together on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2020. However, due to the current restrictions in the state of Virginia, we are going to have to accomplish this in a very unusual way – a Drive-In Service.
Our service will begin at 11:00 in the church parking lot. Please arrive between 11:40 and 11:50. This will give us the opportunity to get every parked and ready for the service.
It has been strongly suggested that all windows and sun roofs remain shut during the service. As such, you will need at least one cell phone with you to access the audio of the service via Facebook or Uberconference – 276.696.6805
You can expect the service to last for about 45 minutes. We understand that being shut in the car for much longer would be very difficult, especially for families with small children We will do our best to remain aware of the time.
Restroom facilities are available, however, they are for emergency use only. This allows us to keep everyone has safe as we possible can and we greatly appreciate your help in this matter.
Following the service, all mothers who register and attend the service will receive a free gift. These will be given out by our parking attendants as you exit property. A prayer station and an offering station will also be available for you and for your family. Thanks again, and we look forward to seeing you and your family on Mother’s Day.
